Yesterdays Dance -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thick course strands of silver tarnished gray grew like weeds in yesterdays garden of gold. Pull as she may the weeds roots were to stay and the gold garden was hers no more. Brief were the sad salty streaks for she knew what she must do, and victory sang the day weeds tarnished silvery gray became soft, shiny and blue. She danced. Her thrill was evident, for sitting beneath a smiling pooch sporting hues of the garden she now grew. She danced. Thunder clashed as pride heightened her metallic plot against the blue calm pool in the sky. Conflicting contrast pierced a laden cloud falling fear frozen tears in the month of June. She danced. Slowly the suns shining smile warmed the tears chill into an angry downpour, chasing her path running with blue. She danced. Gleaming sheer with delight, as she knew to be true just the right shade of soft pink in the rainbow above would renew the garden once shiny and blue. She danced. Edited by: kitty

Dearest Pasha. The photos of you at the christmas party were beautiful. It was so thrilling to see you with such big stars and knowing all the time that you belonged to be in the same spotlight as they do. Also your photos of the Titanic premier were fantastic. Your beauty can not be matched by any of the other skaters on the planet. I am so happy that you had a wonderful time. You deserved it so very much.

Dear Oksana, I have been a fan of yours for years. I was really happy that you beat Nancy Carrigan in 1994 Olympics, even though I'm American. You looked beautiful in the black swan outfit! I'm sorry to hear about your drinking problem. I'm so glad you weren't seriously hurt when you hit the tree. By the way, when did you change your name to Pasha? xoxoxoxox

Webby's remark: Obviously Sara has given a description of Oksana Baiul in the above posting. Not to get mixed up with that Oksana was one of the reasons to choose stagename "Pasha"....

POWERFUL NOVENA to Pasha! I am a tiny angel I'm smaller than your thumb: I live in people's pockets That's where I have my fun. I don't suppose you've seen me, I'm too tiny to detect: Though I'm with you all the time, >I doubt we've ever met. Before I was an Angel... I was a fairy in a flower: God, Himself, hand-picked me, And gave me Angel power. Now God has many Angels That He trains in Angel pools We become His eyes, and ears, and hands We become His special tools. And because God is so busy, With way too much to do; He said that my assignment Is to keep close watch on you. When He tucked me in your Pocket He blessed you with Angel care; Then told me to never leave you, And I vowed always to be there.

Wednesday, January 10, 2001 Pasha (Oksana Grishuk) honors idol Pasha seems like the last person who would need a role model. After all her unbeatable success in eligable sport, she has opened a new direction –solo dancing. Yet Pasha, after all these years and all of her own personal achievements, still aspires to be just like Princes Diana. Pasha's a terrific competitor, she's active in her community, she works hard at her career, she lives for the sport and art, for her friends, fans and her family. I'd love to follow in her footsteps. Combines dancing, solo, pairing elements is not a simple task. Figure skaters are usually very calculated, with each move choreographed perfectly in sync with a score. It's definitely more exciting to see Pasha in live.

Here's wishing our Pashenka, her family and ALL her fans the most Merry of Christmas's, the Happiest of Holidays and the greatest New Year in 2001!!!!!!!! --- To Pasha: You worked very hard this past year and proved the naysayers wrong (again...) Your God-given talents were wonderful to behold in Medalists on Ice, Beverly Hills on Ice - and in Nutcracker on Ice! --- A well known skating producer; who has SEVEN previous Nutcrackers under his belt, told me to my face that this (YOUR!) interpretation of Petyr Tsychaichovsky's classic Xmas fairy tale on ice was 'THE BEST' he had 'EVER seen'!!!-- The skating, acting, drama and character you portrayed in front of 30,000 patrons - was the quintessential Clara!. You should be very proud of your many accomplishments this past 12 months, and we ALL are very proud of you.-- So keep working, keep thinking positive and i'm sure that 2001 will be your GREATEST year for achievements yet!!! ---

WELCOME HOME DEAR FRIENDS, It's a great pleasure to invite you in our home. You'll see only one corner of our library/home, there are several more, but smaller. The second part of the library is on another continent and the third has been donated to some university libraries. Yes, we love books!!! Education, music, arts, and sports are extremely important to us. We live with/through them... basically!!! Marry Christmas/Joyeux Noel/ and Happy New year to all. We are doing a double jump, in the New Millennium and New Century... I think we should consider ourselves very lucky for that... Dear friends, we hope you are feeling very cosy and comfortable at home. The coffee which I've prepared , you can see on the picture two cups, is especially made /special technic/ for our dear friends Jimka and Pashka, both love coffee. And for everybody else of course. The music which you can hear is pre-classics, classics, jazz, opera, new age music, contemporary music, folk and everything you want, variety of genres. I'll write in details about the food, and other entertainments you could enjoy, but not here. I would suggest to go to FSG or the back yard. Thanks for being our friends! Just thinking... Christmas is actually a real/deserved Holiday for people like you - spiritual and enlighten, honest and hard working. Of course everybody celebrates it, even the Philistines, but..... Again we wish you health, happiness, love, and the care of our Spiritual Creator, some call it "luck". We wish the owner of the page, Oxana Pasha, the reason we all are here, continuation of her success on the ice and all the best in her private life. Through Nutcracker/Clara and Tchaikovsky she will live in the hearts and minds of thousands of children for the rest of their lives. Is there more important thing than the love of a child, the real, true, sincere love....! Dear Oxana conquer many more hearts and love in your life................... Happy Holidays everyone! Our Angel Pasha, happy holidays! Thanks for being on the ice for us again! Thanks for being such a kind person to me and to many other people. Somewhere there's an angel. Just waiting in the wings for you. Keeping a loving lookout and helping to see you through. You'll have the blessing of an angel behind the scenes of your days, there to catch any tears that fall and here for you always. The sweetest reassurance as the year ahead unfolds is to know in your heart that you're never alone. And it's such a comfort to know... that your smile will always shine bright in your life, along with the blessing of beautiful things. Hi everybody, Just came home and saw the wonderful Nutcracker site!!! It has been done with a lot of taste, care and professionalism. The pictures are wonderful. Everyone looks pretty and happy. Oxana struck me with her look...so refind, elegant, with the withe blouse and black skirt, and the same time so sweet, like a schoolgirl...Yes GOD watches over her, she is the lucky one...I printed some of the pictures, how could I resist!!! Dear friends, I have a surprise for you for Christmas....well I'll tell you now, I'm not good at surprises.... All of you are invited at home at the "Library & CD store" for a Millennium Party... Online...... My dear friends, I'm sorry we cannot have you here in person. But as far as we are dispersed all over the world, Oceans, Mountains, Rivers, we can get together spiritually... only, with our thoughts, love and hearts, which is the most important way of communication indeed. Bring in your family as well... Bye for now, I have to go to cook for tomorrow the best food in the world.... See you tomorrow.... Lots of love and best wishes, Claire and family Stay put...

“Bravery in Biloxi” – Nutcracker on Ice *** Photo: https://pasha-grishuk.de/board.html *** So here it is, the final two performances (December 17th 2000) of the sensational sell-out 23 show run of Nutcracker on Ice, BeauRivage Resort in Biloxi,MS. – starring Pasha Grishuk as ‘Clara’, Sergey Tartykov as ‘The Nutcracker Prince’ and Eric Bohnstedt as ‘Drossllemyer.’ Principal ensemble: Sharon Wissel and Olga Zhiltsova. Cast: Suzanna Hodges, Taylor Lutzwick, Andrea Hydokovich, Laura Schwartz, Adam Van Eckhout and Wesley Higginbotham. *** More than thirty thousand patrons have so far lined up to see this great adaptation of Tschaikovsky’s Xmas classic in Biloxi. (BTW – although this presentation was part of the ‘Russian Ballet of Ice’ – of which Pasha is the ‘Prima Ballerina’, it was decided to make the show more mainstream by adding additional jumps, spins and ‘tricks’ than usual.)*** The first pas de deux (or adagio) between Pasha and her Prince was going very smoothly (and to great applause) in the 20th show – when disaster struck! *** Sergey landed akwardly and dislocated his right shoulder………..but amazingly gives very little notice to the audience and cast,, and soldiers on, completing the whole show injured – almost collapsing with pain at the finale. *** What to do now? Ice and rest are prescribed. Still TWO shows to go! What needs to be cut? What should be done? Sergey says that he will try and cut nothing, but will change from lifting right arm to left arm. The complete cast’s collective hearts literally stopped EVERY time someone grabbed his injured arm or he jumps and spins. *** Here is the highlight of the show – the first (of two) pas de deux – and where Sergey lifts Pasha on high – she on one leg. He tries but falters halfway. Amazingly he still attempts (and completes) three other lifts!!!; One ‘headbanger’, one ‘fishtail’ and another where Pasha is held by one leg, with another trailing on the stage – going around him five times. *** Unbelievable bravery and class! Truly the show must go on – and Sergey is a real trouper!!! Somehow the other two shows are completed with a ‘one armed’ Prince (watch him doing a triple jump clutching his right arm to his chest! – incredible!) *** Pasha gets in to the act and throws in both a double sal and a double toe in the finale – and the curtain goes down to great applause!!! Family and friends (Mom’s/Dad’s and grandparents) of the ensemble cast have travelled (literally) from as far afield as Minnessota to see their boys and girls and take many photo’s backstage, with Pasha (mostly.) *** J. Barry Mittan the photographer arrived in time for the last show and took photo’s of the actual performance – look for them in your fave skating magazine soon. After the final curtain comes down Pasha gives all the cast a Xmas present and many group and individual photo’s are taken on the ice. *** All in all, a remarkable show from a great cast and crew! All that remains now is to have a party and go home the next day. Sad, but life has to go on. Many new friends have been made, and everyone exchanges emails and phone numbers. *** Till the next time :) Bye from Nutcracker in Biloxi!

Hello everyone! Greetings from the Beau Rivage in Biloxi, Mississippi! I just wanted to give everyone another update from the tour... Tonight I am sad because tomorrow is our last day of shows. I have had an absolutely incredible time skating in this show... and I must admit, I am reluctant to go home... The show is really beautiful, and I do hope that it becomes available on video tape for all of you to see. I do not know at this time if that will pan out, but I know they are working on it. Also, I must say what a sweetheart Pasha is. She is a joy to work with and I have truly enjoyed being in the show with her. Her skating is delightful to watch, she has such grace and beauty. It is so nice to know that she is not just a beautiful skater and person on the outside, but a beautiful person on the inside as well. I hope to work with her much more in the future! I will have many fond memories of this show. Blessings to all, and thank you for all of your support and encouragement! Luv, Sharon :-)

http://www.sunherald.com/justgohttp://www.sunherald.com/justgo 'Nutcracker on Ice' brings artistry, athleticism to Beau Rivage *** JOY JONES THE SUN HERALD Last Wednesday, though a new coat of paint hadn't yet dried on areas of the newly-renovated and If you go What: "Nutcracker on Ice" Where: Beau Rivage Resort, Biloxi. When: 7:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday; 6 and 9 p.m. Saturday; 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10; 4 and 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17. Cost: $12.95 adults, $8.95 children 3-12. Details: 386-7777.*** re-named Beau Rivage Theatre -- former home of Cirque du Soleil's "Alegria" -- the cast of "Nutcracker on Ice," took to the stage in preparation for the show's Friday opening. The stage -- actually 40-by-60-foot ice arena -- had been created the day, before transforming the space into the winter wonderland of the classic holiday ballet, set to the soaring music of Russian composer Peter Illyich Tchaikovsky.*** After a practice Tuesday night and five hours on the ice Wednesday, co-stars Pasha Grishuk and her prince, Sergei Tartykov, glided across the small ice arena, rehearsing twists, turns, lifts and embraces under the watchful eye of choreographer Yuliana Malkhassiants.*** With her blond curls and slight frame, Grishuk is the quintessential Clara, the central character of "The Nutcracker," a holiday favorite since it was first produced by the Russian Imperial Ballet in 1892.*** The 28-year-old skater, dancer and aspiring actress is a two-time Olympic gold-medal champion with four World Champion gold medals and three European gold medals to her name.*** Even in fatigue-colored work-out pants and a flowered T-shirt, Grishuk was the embodiment of the grace and innocence of Clara. During rehearsal, she practiced seemingly effortless spins and glissades across the ice and a scheduled interview had to wait. For the show to go on for its Friday debut, the skaters needed more practice time.*** After two more hours of rehearsal, Grishuk took a break to talk about the show. She explained that a production the size of "Nutcracker on Ice" normally requires at least one month of rehearsal; this group had only six days on site and a previous week in Las Vegas. However, she wasn't worried about opening night; she said that the cast was populated with perfectionists, including herself. "I always put pressure on myself," she said.*** The production marks Grishuk's first turn as Clara, a role she was excited to play. "I love this fairy tale and can't believe I never skated it before. The music is so unbelievable, the adagios . . . " she said trailing off dreamily. "I like her character. Clara is a very sweet, nice girl. She falls in love with the nutcracker and he becomes her prince. I just love this story." *** In addition to starring in "Nutcracker," Grishuk is helping to choreograph her part, which she said is a great experience, especially since she has to contend with a relatively small arena. "It is very difficult, especially for me. My technique is trained over so many years with a lot of speed and fast footwork. I have to measure and think where does the ice end," explained the Odessa, Ukraine native in her precise, Russian-accented English. *** Audiences, she said, should expect a combination of artistry and athleticism, with elements of ice dancing, single skating and acting.*** "We have the idea that this is also theater, not the Olympic games. People want to see the story, the fairy tale," she said. "We could have done more difficult stuff if the ice were bigger, but it's not needed for this show." Grishuk explained that the show is primarily a traditional rendition of the classic ballet, with a few modern touches. "In our generation we try to be a little different and reinvent every time we do something." *** Malkhassiants agreed, saying the American audience would be familiar with their interpretation. With two productions of "The Nutcracker" as a principal solo dancer with the famed Boshoi Ballet on her resume, choreographer Malkhassiants brings experience and a love of the ballet and its music to the show. "The music by Tchaichovsky is very beautiful. It's just fantastic," she said during a rehearsal break. *** In addition to being a performer, Malkhassiants also operates and serves as artistic director of her own dance company in Moscow; as such she is very involved with the technical aspects of theater and was pleased to find the Beau Rivage Theatre a state-of-the-art venue. After searching for the adjectives to describe the theater, she said, "It has fantastic lighting effects here. It's a very good theater (technically) . . . You can use all good words (to describe it)."

Nutcracker On Ice: Biloxi, MS. The Beau Rivage http://www.beaurivage.com is a wonderful resort in Biloxi,MS. Built just over a year and a half ago at a cost of 630 million $$$. Over 1800 rooms, with a state of the art showroom that seats 1550. First three performances were sold out! I saw two performances; 6:00pm and 9:00pm last Saturday evening. Playing 1st thru 17th December. Ice is 'stage size', about 40ftx60ft. Here is the cast: Starring, Pasha Grishuk, Two-time (and current) Olympic Champion as Clara. Principal, Sergei Tartykov, Champion of Siberia - Vlostok and Uzbekistan as the Nutcracker/Prince. Olga Zhiltsova, Disney on Ice principal skater as Sugar Plum Fairy. Eric Bohnstedt, Disney on Ice skater as Drosslemyer. Sharon Wissel. Pro skater and coach (Clara's understudy) and principal chorus. Ensemble: Andrea Hydokovich, Lara Schwarz, Suzanna Hodges, Taylor Lutzwick, Adam Van Eckhout and Wesley Higginbotham. Choreographer: Yuliana Malkhaissants (Official Tutor to Bolshoi Theatre.) Asst. Choreographers: Pasha Grishuk, Shanna Hayes. Director: Michael Belousov (Founder, Russian Ballet on Ice.) Producer: TPM Productions ======================================= Drosselmyer looks great in his black cape with silver lining, he sets the Nutcracker doll at center stage. Spins and weaves his 'magic' way around the ice. The full ensemble comes out and begins to play together in the snow. Pasha then makes her first appearance dressed in a beautiful blue plaid dress with orange trim and flies around the ice in her first (of three ) solo routines (never seen anyone so fast) spins, spirals, wonderful edges - truly acting the part. Looking very happy. Then there is the Ball, where every skater is on the ice. Men in their tuxedo's, ladies in beautiful gowns, opening Xmas presents. Sleigh is pulled on stage by Drosselmyer. Pasha is skating in between the cast. The 'nasty' (LOL) mice appear and the frightening Mouse King chases Pasha around the stage (she's way too quick for him however, LOL). Very menacing music here. The mice sit very close to the audience, hissing and gesticulating. Sergei as the Nutcracker is great - he truly imitates the way (I imagine ) a wooden toy might walk. Very authentic and brilliant stage play here. (There is a hilarious scene where both Pasha and Drosselmyer think that the Nutcracker is dead - and amidst lots of noisy drum music he gyrates wildly with his hands and arms and Pasha has to rush over and calm him, LOL). The mice attack and mortally wound the Nutcracker. Pasha cries on cue (real tears stream down her face, I saw them - great character acting. Pasha Hollywood actress lessons are paying off). After Pasha kisses the Nutcracker he comes alive, this time as a handsome Prince! Pasha dreams and is entertained by the Sugar Plum Fairy and the ensemble, the Christmas tree grows from about ten to twenty four feet! Waltz of The Flowers, the girls wear beautiful matching gold lame gowns, imitating balletic poses and skate a great end-on-end spiral sequence together. Sharon Wissell performs beautiful layback and many other spins in the center. Wonderful lighting effects. Pasha is now wearing a cute (little girl) white dress with pink belt and matching hairbow. Sitting together with Sergei at the rear of the stage. The chorus appear as follows to entertain Pasha and her Prince: Taylor as a charming Asian Princess, Suzanna and Lara are two circus performers with a rope trick. Eric is a spinning Dervish. Wesley is a fearsome Matador - and Sharon is a tress sexy and sultry Arabian dancer! Pasha and her (charming) Prince now perform the routine which is truly the highlight of the evening. A pas-de-deux or adagio if you prefer. Their 'side by side' spirals and 'romantic' gestures to each other are beautiful (he on one knee, kissing her outstretched hand!) - as is the music. This Prince is NO slouch, he thows in some great spins, a huge death drop into a spin and a triple sal! Pasha is radiant and flies across the ice with her amazing array of moves and fancy footwork - HUGE extension on her spiral! Three different lifts: one where she does a "headbanger" (LOL) move, where she is held by the ankles and turned around in circles with her head inches from the floor!, another where she is 'cradled' in her Prince's arms and leans back and clutches her skate blades. The audience likes that move very much. The routine ends with the Prince lifting Clara 'on high' - holding on to just one of her legs - to great applause. For this routine Pasha is wearing a beautiful silver topped gown with white body and feathers at the bottom. The Prince is decked out in a gold and purple suit, looking very Regal and dashing! Pasha has another solo routine (BTW - Pasha choreographed ALL her solo and their duet by herself.) This time she shows off her amazing dexterity in footwork, literally imitating a prima ballerina on her pointed toes - complete with intricate hand/arm movements, (VERY Swan lake!) twizzles, spins, laybacks, all over the ice! Extremely difficult body moves, worthy of a champion (I have been watching skating for over a decade and have never seen the like.) Throws in two double sal's - for good measure. (What other "ice dancer" jumps? She does so because she can and wants to, I guess.) BTW - she doesn't need any jumps IMO, her beauty, grace, carriage and sheer elegance (poetry in motion) as she performs her routines is breathtaking, you can hear the audience literally sigh as she skates and glides around the stage - and her style is perfectly suited to this type of show. She jumps counter clockwise for those who wish to know. Entertainment and excellence personified. All in all, when you have: exhilarating music by Petr Tchaykovsky, beautiful costumes, colorful backgrounds and props, dynamic sound, wonderful skating by Pasha and cast, the ambience of the Beau Rivage Theatre - it was an experience to never forget. The show lasts approx. 90 minutes with no intermission. The audience love it! I overheard several saying they would go to another performance. (On the 11th and 12th of December the troupe puts on two extra 'special' short performances for the schoolchildren of Biloxi and environs.) To conclude, Pasha was just simply - magnificent! This amazing iceperformer/soloist put in two great double jumps in several of her routines and seems to be able to do almost everything. I hope that the skating biz is now taking notice - long overdue. From their reaction, the public needs to and will see more of her. How 'bout Starskates? or Diva's?? or Improve??? These would have been wonderful showcases for Pasha's talents. Probably next time around. Sergei was incredible as the 'Prince' - a real crowd favorite, and should be in much demand for more shows and performances elsewhere. In fact ALL the cast were marvelous. From the youngest – sweetheart Suzanna, to the others (the sultry Sharon!) they performed wonderfully. There is an interview/photo with Pasha on the SunHerald newspaper website: (At the casinos) http://justgo.realcities.com/biloxi/ The local NBC affiliate WLOX TV13 cameras were present at the dress rehearsal. Pasha was interviewed live on their 4:30pm broadcast on November 30th and will appear on MobileTV also.

Hello everyone!*** This is Sharon Wissel. I am one of the cast members of the Nutcracker on Ice starring Pasha Grishuk. I am up late transferring files for my graphic design job (yes, I have a job besides skating). ;-) Everyone else on the tour is sound asleep, and here I am working. :-) Never fear, I will still get plenty of rest before tomorrow's performance! :-)*** I just thought I would give you guys an update on the show from a cast member viewpoint. The entire cast first arrived in Las Vegas, Nevada on Thanksgiving Day for rehearsals. I missed spending time with my family for the holiday, but was incredibly excited about the tour. Our rehearsals in Vegas ran from 11:30pm-7:30am. Yup! That's right! Overnight rehearsals! It was great fun though, kind of like overnight skating parties! Rehearsals were grueling, but the cast quickly became like family, and we kept each other in good spirits. We knew we had to put an excellent show together, and that required hard work.*** On November 28th, we caught a 6:00am flight to New Orleans, Louisiana and then traveled by bus to Biloxi, Mississippi. That evening, we were on the ice for rehearsal. The hotel here is absolutely beautiful! All of the skaters' hotel rooms overlook the Mississippi Sound which opens up into the Gulf of Mexico. It is wonderful waking up in the morning and seeing the ocean right outside your window! Also, the theater in which we are performing in is incredible! The theater is the former home of Cirque De Soleil's "Alegria". I wish I could describe it to you! The ice surface is small-- approximately 40 x 60 feet. The seating which holds 1,600 is in the form of an arc around the stage. The lighting effects for the show are magnificent! *** We opened for our first night of shows on December 1st. We have been skating to practically sold out shows every night! I am in 7 numbers which are: ice skating rink scene, ballroom scene, Rat King scene, principal in the Snowfairy scene, Arabian Dance solo (my favorite), Waltz of the Flowers, and Finale. The show is a lot of fun and goes by quickly since I have so many numbers to skate! I have several quick changes! This show is a lot of fun to be a part of!*** Also, Pasha is very nice! I knew her previously from when she trained for the Olympics at the rink that I coach at. However, from doing this show, I have really had a chance to get to know her, and she is a truly delightful person. Any publicity about her that is not positive is wrong because she is a complete sweetheart. :-) She has been very nice and supportive to all of the cast members! She is like a sister to all of us! *** I basically want to say that I am fully enjoying this opportunity! Being in this professional show has been everything I have dreamed of: *a lot* of hard work, working with a great choreographer, traveling, meeting new friends and fellow skaters, and performing in front of sold out crowds! *** With all of that said, I must go... time to sleep so that I can skate great tomorrow! :-) If you want to e-mail me, write to [email protected] ! I'll do my best to write back to everyone! :-) ***

I am trying to put together a listing of high level skaters, both pro and ameture who are interested in performing in show and/or tours. Ameture skaters would receive USFSA paperwork and would not lose their status. This listing is not for skaters that already belong to high powered agencies but is for skaters that are just trying to make a buck to help make ends meet. This data bank will allow show and tour producers to locate the number and type of skater needed to fill a show. I do not get paid for this service, however if an agent contacts you he/she may or may not require a fee for booking services. I understand that for shows/tours requiring travel that the skater is usualy paid transportation, lodging, food and a fee negotiated with the show/tour booking agent or producer. Again I have nothing to do with this contract as it is between skater and the person in charge of the show or tour. Again I am only providing a data base to assist the skater in being placed. I request the following information for this data base: NAME AGE SKATING LEVEL DISCIPLINE AMETURE OR PRO MALE OR FEMALE E MAIL. I do not want personal addresses and/or telephone numbers. That is between you and whoever runs the show/tour. Show producers may require a photo if questioned on certain shows due to size requirements of certain parts. I have say over this and it is between you and the show/tour producer. To be placed on this list please contact me at [email protected] If you have any questions please contact me at the same e mail address and I will be glad to address them

Story. In a small German town a hundred years ago, guests are arriving at the house of Dr. Stahlbaum who is giving a Christmas Eve party. As the guests enter the comfortable parlor, we see their excitement. Dr. Stahlbaum's children, Clara and Fritz, are particularly excited. Clara is a slightly shy, dreamy little girl. Fritz, however, is a little scamp. Sometimes they quarrel and their parents have to step in as mediators. Tonight, however, they are united in their admiration for the Christmas tree which fills one end of the parlor. As we watch, gifts are exchanged and the children play with their new toys. Although the little girls try to behave, the boys get rowdy and have to be hushed by their elders. Another guest arrives. This is Drosselmeyer, Clara's godfather, and a very odd guest he is. His fingers are as agile as a magician's in performing and conjuring tricks. He is also a clockmaker and an inventor who knows how to fashion all sorts of mechanical marvels. He has brought some to the party: life-sized dolls which, when they are wound up, jump and dance and whirl about. Everyone is fond of Drosselmeyer, but there is something decidedly mysterious about him. He gives Clara a strange present - a nutcracker shaped like a little man. It is a seemingly grotesque toy for a little girl but Clara falls in love with it. When Fritz sees it he decides he wants it for himself. Pulling it away from Clara, he breaks it in the scuffle. Clara is heartbroken, but Drosselmeyer fixes the toy and dries her tears. One last dance brings the party to an end. The guests depart and the Stahlbaum children are sent off to bed. Clara cannot sleep, however, and she tiptoes downstairs for a peek at her nutcracker. Clasping it in her arms. she curls up on the sofa and dozes off. As the big clock in the parlor strikes midnight: Clara awakens. How strange the parlor looks at night in the dark! Sinister shadows cross the floor and Clara even imagines she sees Drosselmeyer in the face of the clock. Suddenly the room is invaded by mice - ugly, nasty, horrid mice. They scurry hither and thither. They start to attack Clara, but suddenly Drosselmeyer appears. He tells her that the Nutcracker will keep her from harm and then disappears again. Suddenly, the Nutcracker comes alive and the room is filled with a curious glow The Christmas tree begins to grow - up and up it rises until the star at its tip bursts through the ceiling. The Nutcracker leads toy soldiers into battle against the mice and the Mouse King, but is overpowered by the vicious mice. Clara picks up a sword and runs at the Mouse King in a frenzy, mortally wounding him. The mice carry off their king and leave Clara with her broken, lifeless Nutcracker. Now comes the greatest magic of all. The Nutcracker comes to life, but is no longer a toy. He is transformed into a handsome prince and he promises to take Clara To a n enchanted realm. Clara and her Prince find themselves in a forest of snow-covered trees, and as the couple passes through the forest the first act comes to an end. ACT II The curtain opens on the Palace of the Sugarplum Kingdom. Surrounding a throne of caramels and gumdrops, royal sentinels await the return of their beloved Prince. The Nutcracker Prince arrives with Clara in a magical sleigh, and he tells the court how the fearless Clara killed the Mouse King and saved his life. They are greeted by other members of the court, including the beautiful Sugarplum Fairy. The Nutcracker Prince rewards Clara with grand entertainment. Dancers representing many lands and coming from far-away places delight Clara with their wonderful performances. All parties, however - even magical ones - come to any end. And finally, the Sugarplum Fairy tells Clara it is time to go home. In the wink of an eye, she is home, back on the parlor sofa. It has all been a dream. Or has it?

Below is an article I have received permission to post from FSG. It tells us how difficult it is to produce a professional figure skating show. I thought you might like it. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dateline: Las Vegas Nutcracker on Ice rehearsals November 23-27 Here we all are. Principal Skater, Ms. Pasha Grishuk with ten cast members, Producer, Director, Stage manager, Choreographer and Costume Master. It's cold on this ice! Welcome to showbiz!, LOL Full size rink. Because of difficulty in booking ice time we have to rehearse in the 'twilight zone', 11:00am-8:00pm!. Only problem is that 'some' people have to work during the day too, and sleep only three/four hours per day. Grrrrrr....Day (err, night!) one.......Cast is disoriented and tired already from travelling. Our 'intrepid' Head Choreographer (Yuliana Malkhaissants from the Bolshoi Theatre) doesn't care! - the show must go on - and we finish nine hours later.....a few of our younger, less travelled skaters wondered what they had signed up for!(LOL.) Pasha's 'Prince' has been chosen. A Russian 'gentleman' 26 years old and a great skater! They break off and begin to rehearse separately from the others. Pasha is given the job of choreographing ALL their routines!! Together they skate a wonderful 'adagio' that will bring tears to your eyes - very romantic!!! Pashenka's height extention on her 'spiral' is something amazing to behold - her own Bolshoi Ballet training is soooo obvious to see. Day (well night) two and the 'cast' is beginning to resemble a 'touring troupe'. Every scene has been meticulously choreographed down to the NOTE, and progress is seen to be made. (Aside: Some of the younger ensemble cast had NO idea in the beginning WHO the "beautiful, wonderful female skater" was and were IN AWE when they discovered that it is indeed 'THE' Pasha Grishuk, Two-time (and current) Olympic Champion.......they gave her a standing ovation at the end of one of her routines!!!) Day (er, night) three and Our Pashenka is given 'the news' that due to time constraints she must choreograph two solo numbers for herself also! She goes at it with a vengeance..........soon she has it down, throwing in two double sal's one after the other - with amazing spins, spirals and the fastest and most agile footwork I have ever seen - she truly flies over the surface............... looking VERY happy and content!!!. The ice IS her element after all!. The cast is now learning how to act like 'rats' for one scene, LOL, and it's pretty funny to watch )) Our Choreographer decides (at the last minute!) that she wants to change some music - so we dash to the sound studio. (The hotel computer decides NOT to verify our charge account for food - so the fearless Producer has to sort out the mess)..........Oh well, who ever said it was going to be easy??? EVERY day there is some fire to put out! Day (whatever!) four. Time has no meaning now. Just eat (food is good!)sleep, skate and......repeat the process all over again. Costumes are fitted during the day. Of course some alterations have to be made - we have over FORTY outfits! Pashenka has three magnificent dresses!!! One a silver sequensed top ballgown, another a long, slinky white gown with feathers at the bottom (ideal for an 'ICE'Princess !!!) and the third was a custom made 'young girl dress' in pink by one of the top designers in Vegas! (He has designed for every top performer ever to play here.) Rehearsals are a little shorter this evening......fatigue is setting in, and there is a 'night out' planned 'on the town'! Day five.......Three hours of rehearsing only. We have to leave at the 'ungodly' hour of 4:00 am!!!, to catch a 6:15am flight to New Orleans, then by bus to Biloxi, about an hour away. A 24 seat coach is booked to carry us with luggage and ten cartons of outfits to the airport, en route to ourfinal destination - for 17 performances, Dec. 1st thru 17th!!! The Beaurivage in Biloxi is an 1800 room 5 star resort on the Gulf Coast Our public (and local TV/newspapers/radio await!) - Pashenka will be appearing thursday 30th. on WLOX TV for a LIVE interview, 4:15-4:30pm CST, and interviewed by the Sun Herald newspaper too! J. Barry Mittan will be taking photographs for publication. At fridays 'dress rehearsal' ALL the skaters will be shown on WLOX TV - so look your best guys! Report from the 'showroom' next!!!.............

This is her first part of this high magnitude and I am so proud of her as she had to go through the same exacting standards screening as all of the other cast members. Lets wish the show the best of success and thank you Pasha for giving a new skater a chance to be in the limelight. This break and the chance to skate with you has been a dream she has worked so hard for. You have made the chance come true. My family wish you and the show the best of success always.

" Beverly Hills on Ice - a Winter Wonderland" Beverly Hills: Sunday November 19th 2000. This great ice show was put together by the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce and was the major part and focal point of the City's 15th annual holiday lighting ceremony. One of the most famous streets in the World - Rodeo Drive, was closed and a portable rink approx. 40ftX60ft was put up at the Wilshire Blvd end.. Three tons of crushed ice were hosed down by water for 24 hours, until a beautiful ice surface was created. About 1,000 seats (VIP, reserved, bleachers) were installed. Of course many more watched from the windows of nearby buildings. The show sold out! Professional lighting and sound was installed all around the rink. The ice was beautifully illuminated. Famous Hollywood actress Catherine Hicks introduced the show. First up was "Pasha and Cast", a nice ensemble number. Skating to 'Carol of the Bells'. Members included: Lucinda Ruh, Surya Bonaly, Lu Chen, Scott Williams, Travoti & Witherby and "special guest" eight year old Marina Guterres - who won a competition to skate with Pasha! Next was "Lucinda Ruh", skating to 'Piano Concerto #1'. Great spins and combinations of same. The "City of Angels Ice Theatre" (eight local female skaters) performed to 'Les Patineurs'. "Surya Bonaly" performed a nice program to "Anastasia" (complete with backflip!) and "Lu Chen" (looking great in a white shiny and fur lined costume !) vamped her way thru 'Santa Baby!' Next was "Scott Williams" who 'barrel-rolled' his way thru 'Let it Snow.' Then a long time pro couple, "Lia Travoti & Russ Witherby" skated to 'Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas.' Next up was "eight year old Marina Guterres" who cried when chosen, as Pasha is her "inspiration" - and she was absolutely "thrilled" to be skating with our Ice Angel! She skated to 'Somewhere in My Memory' - very cute!!! Then the Star of the show emerged again, Pasha skated to "Magic". This was a very special routine that she put together with Cindy Stuart. Spending hours too with a professional magician from Los Angeles' Magic Castle. The routine involved Marina Guterres again. Pasha skated a number of solo moves: including beautiful handwork, spins, spirals and amazing footwork, solo and withg Marina!!!! (The finished TV shots are incredible!). Pasha's hair and makeup was specially done by Jose Eber salon of Beverly Hills. Pasha wore a newly made outfit - mostly pink, with scarves and lots of sequence! (Here is the BEST part!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL): The end of Pasha's routine involved making a 'white Dove' appear (by magic!) to be released into the night.........Pasha took the bird home with her (to look after!) two day's prior to the show (had to be trained - ya know!,LOL) The day before the show, the 'bird' became "real quiet" - and Pashenka was worried.........everyone said "no problem". Then five minutes before the show Pasha discovered WHY the bird was sooooo quiet. When she opened the birdbox - she saw a beautiful bird EGG!!!! Unbelievable! So Pasha decided to not use the Dove after all, LOLOL!!!!!. Of course the audience had no clue! Next "Rick Alexander" skated to 'Waltz of the Flowers/Jingle Bells Rock'. Finally Santa Claus and Marina appeared skating to'Sleigh Ride', followed by the entire ensemble and cast. Last to appear (of course!) was Our Ice Angel.......who skated some more great moves to the delight of the guests!!!! The lights of the City of Beverly Hills were then turned on by the Mayor. The skaters and their VIP guests were then treated to a champagne reception at Tiffany's on Rodeo Drive - complete with little Xmas gifts!!! This show was televised and will be shown on local cable tv - keep your eye's open!!!!!!!!!

You passed another test in your life. Yes, these tests are difficult sometimes even unbearable, but after each of them we emerge with stronger ability for love, understanding and creation... Dearest Pasha Congratulations on the success of your wonderful show. I have heard how beautiful you were and how great you skated. I also have heard nothing but wonderful comments about the other skaters in the show. I wonder of those in attendance know that they made history by being the first there to watch an outside ice show in Beverly Hills. This just goes to prove that you are not only a great skater but a wonderful producer. I know that you now have the famous "Nutcracker" as your next project and I wish you the best of success. Whith the crew you have behind you I know this will also be a wonderful experience for all that go to Bolixi to see it. Again, congratulations. You are truely an angel on ice.

I was able to drive the two hours to Beverly Hills yesterday. It will be the best memories to all my life - I saw great Pasha in life!!!!!!!!! I talked to one of the men working there, he said Pasha was so friendly and so nice to everyone. However, he did say that she is somewhat of a quiet person, which is exactly as I had her figured. Pasha had a long haircut and looked great. Her skating was breathtaking and she is so fast on the ice. I was center ice, first row in the bleachers. I taped about show, but really mostly just wanted to enjoy the moment with Pasha. Her spins were right in front of me and just went up effortlessly. An elderly woman behind me kept remarking about how beautiful Pasha is and how elegant she skated. Pasha was wearing very beautiful rose dress -she was really like princess. I spoke to Rudolf briefly about her program. I couldn't stay and see her magic numbers as I was pressed for time and almost didn't get to go at all. Actually, I'm now even more upset about the COI thing. Pasha is too great of a skater to not have lots and lots of invites. She was really sweet getting the kids off the ice, holding the curtain for them. They just kind of smiled and breezed by her. She was nobody that special to them - just great Pasha in from fairy tale for the weekend. Pasha, thank you very much!!!

Hallo my dear friends! Thank you so very much for all your wonderful wishes for me! Today I was so happy to meet my great manager Jay Ward, who came to LA to give me his support! Dearest Jay, thank you sooo very much for everything you’ve done for me and for my fans! It was really exiting day today! Few minutes before my performance, my magic birdie had present me an egg ! Now I am waiting for a nestling! I was so exiting about this and nervous and happy – I decided not destroy she and told to my skating „partner“ – 8 years old Marina, that we will skate our performance without birdie today. I had two magic numbers more – one was with two kerchiefs, the other one was with flowers. I enjoyed to be on this show very much and think, I was the happiest skater today! I had so much fun! Everything - ice-rink, music, crown, skaters - was like in fairy tale! I skated to music from very famous Russian film „Ocenniy Marofon“. I had hell-rose long dress and choreography was suitable to my magic waltz music. I skated at the end of our show and could not see the other skaters, but I heard applause and think all of them were great. During the pause we have got presents from Tifanni and were very happy! Love, Pasha.

You seem to have a joy in your heart at all times. Your happiness rubs off on others, and it affects me. I can't help but feel happy when I'm around you. Your enthusiasm is contagious. You are excited about everything. A person cannot be interested in all the facets of life without having a loving and beautiful heart... and you do. In order to care, there must be a depth of love and concern for all humanity. You have it. It's in your beautiful heart and in your very soul. This makes you rare, indeed. Pasha, as I know that you are presently a very busy woman, I will not monopolize too much of your time, only to say that my prayers go with you for much success with these new, exciting endeavors that you now embark upon. When I spoke to you last year you told me of a number of horrible things that were done to you by those whom you had trusted. At one point I said you needed to find someone who has your best interests at heart. And you agreed and thanked me for that comment. It is a hurtful thing when someone who has been close to you is disloyal, much worse than if it was a stranger. But I do not now want to dredge up unhappy memories from days past during this happy time. From all appearances you have found new friends who are true and loyal to you, as you are to them, not the least of which is Jay Ward, your "new" manager. He appears to have worked very hard and faithfully in your best interests. And with such wonderful friends and a new manager, I am sure that there will be many bright days ahead for you, both professionally and otherwise. Pasha, you are a very strong person and a great champion, and you will be a great star for many years to come. With affection, Gene Meyers

My daughter received birthday cards and numerous messages for her 17th birthday on 1 November and word of several very special birthday presents being on the way. As always Suzanna was very excited to hear from Pasha and her family, but also the fact that Pasha actually remembered her birthday was a huge thrill to her. The fact that Pasha would take this kind of time for her, considering she is so busy with "Beverly Hills on Ice" and the "Nutcracker" shows just how wonderful she is. Thank you so very much Pasha for being so kind. Love as always. Jimka

I have my own Pasha Picture!!!!! I don't care if it rains of freezes 'Long as I got my Pasha Picture Riding on the dashboard of my car. Through my trials and tribulations And my travels through the nations With my Pasha Picture I'll go far. Pasha Picture! Pasha Picture, Riding on the dashboard of my car I'm afraid She'll have to go. Her magnets ruin my radio And if I have a wreck She'll leave a scar. Riding down a thoroughfare With Her nose up in the air, A wreck may be ahead, but She doesn't mind. Trouble coming She doesn't see, She just keeps Her eyes on me And any other thing that lies behind. Pasha Picture! Pasha Picture, Riding on the dashboard of my car ... Though the sunshine on Her back Make Her peel, chip and crack, A little patching keeps Him up to par. When I'm in a traffic jam She doesn't care if I say "damn" I can let all my curses roll Pasha Picture doesn't hear 'Cause She has a plastic ear The man who invented picture saved my soul.

My sister and I were diehard fans who loved IFS magazine and read it cover to cover. We were anxiously anticipating the last year issues of IFS, hoping for coverage on of one of our favorite skater Pasha, but were sadly disappointed. I hope IFS will make up for this oversight in a future issue, if Pasha fans will write to IFS, as I am sure I am not the only fan of Pasha who was disappointed. Hello Dear friends, Pasha and her Mamochka. How is everybody doing? Hope everything is O.K with you! There are so many new exiting events and ideas here...... The idea of Pasha, having her own show sounds very promising and interesting to us. It is High Time the skaters themselves take pros FS in their hands. Otherwise we'll continue to witness the decline of pros FS to the level of extinction. Doing the show on the West Cost of US , where the FS is not so developed compared to the East cost is extremely important in our point of view... California could turn into a new Klondike in skating in the future...Not to mention the fact that California is an artistic and intellectual center and the art of figure skating will be more than well received there! No doubts the show will have a great success! Congratulations to Pasha on her graduation. Our family is really delighted, education and knowledge are so important to her! At the end we'd love to post one of the pictures of the French painter Renoir for Pasha's Mum, Pasha herself and all our friends on this page, Bevka/Tony, Anushka, Jenochka, Michelle/Amara, Lennochka, Jimka, Jayechka, Ruth, Thomas, Melania, Karen, Sandrina, Margareet and all other fans/friend. http://www.geocities.com/claire_bd/Renoir1.jpg Best wishes and lots of love, Claire and family Dear Webby, thank you very much for the new pictures and your extremely professional work! How to explain my feelings when I'm looking at Pasha's fans and Pasha herself..!!. What strikes me the most is the deepness, kindness and warmth of their eyes, the mirror of Human Soul. We call such rare kind of people, *PEOPLE of LIGHT* or *People of the Future*!!!! Happy Halloween to everyone!!!!!

Pasha's skating show and glamorous photosession! ------------------------------------------------------------ Today our sweet Ice Angel was photographed by notable Beverly Hills based photographer Harry Landon 'on ice' at a rink in Southern California. These were publicity shots for both the Beverly Hills on Ice show and for the cover of the prestigious Beverly Hills magazine too! This glossy mag is distributed throughout BHills and is the 'social diary' of sorts, listing all the big movie star parties, soirees and major events. Simply wonderful publicity for our Ice Angel ! Pashenka wore different outfits; designer sweaters by Escada, evening dresses and skating costumes. Scott Williams was there and (surprise!) Katerina Witt joined the party for a little while. The actual 'Beverly Hills on Ice' show will be videotaped and syndicated nationally and be on sale on VHS format pretty quickly after shooting, no doubt from Pasha's Online Store. Lots of 'fluff' pieces have/ will be shot which could be included in the video. Stay tuned!!!!!!!!!!! :

You have worked so hard for everything you have. And, once more, I want to thank you for everything you have done for me... I won't ever forget. Pasha, please let me know whenever you will be down here in Florida. I would like to give you the fifty-cent tour, and feed you, and just enjoy your company. Hello my dear friends :)))) I am soooo excited and wanted you all to know about my party this weekend. I was a guest at Robert Silk's birthday celebration last friday, October 13th at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills. Mr. Silk is the Managing Partner of 'The Venetian' Resort in Las Vegas. I took my cute Mamochka with me! She had a wonderful time, and enjoyed meeting all the movie stars, celebrities, hollywood producers and agents. I made many great contacts and my manager will follow up on them. There was close to 1,000 guests here - BIG party :))) Imagine my SURPRISE ,at the entrance to the VIP guest's check-in, was a display promoting 'Pasha's success video tapes' surrounded by HUGE color photographs of me skating in three different and beautiful outfits. I was soooooo amazed! The video producers didn't tell me anything about their plans to surprise me - actually I was SHOCKED to see large color photo's displayed there for ALL the guests to see, but a good publicity for me! Everyone at the party I spoke to said the display looked great! I wore a beautiful sleeveless white silk gown with low neckline and my hair was long and straight - several guests said I looked like an Angel! Many beautiful photographs were taken and I will try to put some of them on my Official InfoPage as soon as possible for all of you to see. It would have been wonderful if you my dear friends had been there too - but perhaps I will meet some of you at my Beverly Hills On Ice show - "A Winter Wonderland", on November 19th? I look very much forward to doing so. That's all for now, God bless every one of you :))), Pasha.

Dear Pasha, we are glad to hear your wonderful news! I prayed for you today and everyday before. I hope that each day will get better. I am sure your solo skating is great, but it’s so hart for you my little girl. It will be much easier for you to skate with Evgeny again. I know he is far from you. But you just believe in your heart that your partner will be back. And He will. Proclaim it in the name of the Lord! You just have to trust the Lord. Satan will continually try to make you doubt it. But you have to just keep saying it. Say it out loud for that liar to hear too! You are in and will stay in my prayers. I will be checking on you to make sure you are staying strong. Just let me know how I can help!

"Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly." I am very happy now! Yesterday arrived my Mamochka!!!!!! I am so happy!!!!!! But I keep working very hard and I would like to show you all my best. Because the skating business is not good this season, so I and my manager Jay Ward decide to put together our own shows. We are working very hard to promote several shows this year, either on our own or with other people we know. The last days I’ve signed a few contracts and will be Star skater and assistant producer for Beverly Hills show, on November 19th! This show is very special for me. I get to skate with young girl, in ensemble and solo routine too. Santa Claus and his sleigh will be there! It is called a "Winter Wonderland". This show will be outdoors - we will build special rink in most beautiful area in the world -- Rodeo Drive!!! At the end of the show the Xmas lights in Beverly Hills will be turned on by major Star celebrity of Beverly Hills. I may get to wear my 'Angel' costume for you!!! We will invite wonderful skaters such as my friend Surya Bonaly, Ilia Kulik and Lu Chen and others. Perhaps Michelle Kwan may make special appearance, but I understand that she has to work very hard to World and other championships, so it will be only her and her manager Mr. Goldberg decision. Also we sign an agreement for " Nutcracker on ice" from December 1 through December 17. This show will be in Missisipi-Biloxi. I was in TV studios in a couple of weeks where I worked at pre-recorded skating show called "Superstars on Ice". There are talks of three more shows. I will let you know more details soon. You are always in my prayers and thoughts! God bless! Always with love Pasha.
